“Five days in this lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

A wonderful old hotel, very french, in the middle of the market square opposite the Church. Bedrooms 1800 french style, big bathrooms, lots of mirrors, afternoon tea served. Breakfast just enough, to save room for the evening meal. Fifty paces from Le Breard, an exceptional restaurant and many many more to choose from -you need three months stay in Honfleur to visit every good restaurant. Staff at hotel charming, obliging, Beds huge and comfortable. I'll be back!!

Room Tip: choose the room at the front. Not much parking space.

“maison de lea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We had two nights here on a recent trip to France. Honfleur is just lovely. A preserved medieval village. The hotel is really well located on the square opposite the Church of St Catherine. Make sure you pop in there for "matins". We were allocated room 26 and ( like the review of room 25), it is a bit disappointing. Smallish and perhaps shouldn't be a "priviledge" room at the higher price. Breakfast is good but quite pricey at 15 euros/head. Lovely fresh fruit and fresh pastries,

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 25 & 26

“Fantastic place”

This very nice hotel is in the middle of it all: central location, but easy to find. Feels like (a European) home and in fact it is an assembly of several (4?) houses. The result is that your room might be a few corridors and staircases away from the reception... Nice people at reception, clean but small, comfortable rooms with an elegant rustic feel, bathrobe and slippers in the bathroom. Very nice breakfast and a huge salon with wide armchairs.
You can't leave your car close to the hotel (just to drop of your bagage) but the hotel's private parking is "only' 500 meters away.
When we were there, the room was a bit fresh (we like it hot) and we had to ask for an extra electrical heater.
We had a lovely time here - although the real thing is of course the small town itself. You could say that staying here enhances the feeling of the Honfleur-atmosphere.

“Cozy and Quaint - Very Comfortable BUT there is one thing I would have liked to know in advance!”

With 67 wonderful reviews, you know all the darling hotel details.
I wanted to highlight the horrible parking situation we had. Yes, there is/are parking lots, but you need to feed the "kitty" often! Our two USA
Credit cards did not work, so we had to constantly return to put coin Euros in the machine and take the paper receipt out and put it in the window. On each visits to the car, I noticed two new scratches. Yes, it's a rental! The parking lot spaces are severely shortened and squeezed tightly together. This advice is something I would have liked to have known ahead of time!
Parking so far away was miserable having to drag our suitcases in the rain to the hotel entrance...wait till I get in touch with my travel agent!!!

“Once again, excellent!”

Les Maisons de Lea again provided a great room for the family. We've now stayed three times. As we are four (two adults, two children) we have to take a more expensive room with additional beds. The rooms are great, with great views of the city. Staff are very welcoming, the whole experience is very relaxed. The recently added steam room also helps. Breakfast is lovely. Afternoon tea (or beer) sat outside very relaxing. Shame there's no evening meal, but with a plethora of establishments around the quayside only a few yards away, not missed.

Highly recommend. The kids loved it too.

Room Tip: Speak to the staff to get the kind of room you want. The hotel is made up of four old houses knocke...
