It seems we had a very different experience to all the other reviewers on here.
We did have a pleasant welcome when we initally arrived at the hotel, the lady on reception directed us to the court year car park etc. But as my husband came back in to take our bags to our room he was 'collared' by an Emglish lady on reception. When booking initially through Lastminute there was a server error their end as we placed the booking so we weren't sure if it went through or not. We contacted Lastminute and they couldn't see any booking from their end. We then booked again with hotels.com. The lady was very annoyed at the hotel as she thought we had booked two rooms for that evening. ( I am not sure why anyone would book two rooms under the same name through two different booking agents, but anyway) She was really quite rude about it and blamed my husband.
She then said she would look into the matter.
After that we both really felt on edge and really not welcome. I asked for a reccomendation for dinner and was bluntly told about a restaurant at the end of some road or another. When I said I hope I remember where that is and what it's called she just repeated it again - maybe a map or a card for the restaurant might have been nice?
The room was nice and clean, very modern, but on the small side. It also had a matting syle carpet which made the room smell quite odd - of sacs - which was quite off putting in the night.
Overall it was fine. But to be honest I was more disapointed with Trouville overall. It is so, so touristy and run down. We couldn't find any kind of bar to have a drink in at all!!! A very strange place!! The next day we went along the cost by 30 mins and found Honfleur - what a beautiful town. I nearly cried when I thought we'd spent a day and night in the grim Trouville when this gem was only down the road. Never mind - next time...!
