I read previous reviews and wasn't expecting much-the room we had was excellent ,service good, breakfast excellent an impressive choice - obviously since takeover things have improved dramatically -parking a little difficult but with a little patience managed to park in public car park opposite every time-I have been in the Travel Industry for 40 years and would not hesitate to reccommend this Hotel-incidentally I didn't book this myself I was part of a golf group organised by a friend through Brittany Ferries-Bill Jackson Zip Travel -Birmingham England

The Mercure Trouville has nothing special to offer for the price that we paid. The room was very basic and clean but had a worn out look; however it was larger than most European hotel rooms in this category. There was no heating in the room, and when we brought this to the attention of the Reception, they provided us with a tiny portable heater fan (which needless to say was barely effective).

There are no tea / coffee making facilities provided. This was a bit of a damper in the cold French winter.

The shower does not have a shower curtain; instead it has half a glass door, resulting in the bathroom getting wet. The heating in the bathroom was good.

No free internet; we had to pay a high fee to use the same. At the rates charged by the hotel, they should consider providing free wifi.

The location of the hotel was decent, a Euro 9, five minute taxi ride away from the Deauville-Trouville railway station. I would recommend staying in Deauville, the neighbouring town, especithtually with most of the rent a car companies being located there.

Conclusion: Average hotel; overpriced.

For a few extra euros, I recommend the recentlly renovated rooms at the Trouville Mercure. They are on the small side but perfectly nice, extremely quiet and include extras such as slippers, a bathrobe, a bottle of mineral water, and everything you need to make tea or coffee. Renovation somehow did not reach so far as the bathroom taps, which seemed a little tired but worked fine. A good deal at 115 euros in low-season December.
Staff were very friendly but I am French and this was a quiet period, which probably helps: the crowds are overwhelming in summer .
I didn't have breakfast here because there are so many wonderful cafés in the area which offer a better deal. Besides, you came to Trouville to see Trouville, didn't you?!
Location remains the Mercure's best asset: it's probably the most central hotel in town. But a Mercure is a Mercure... So don't expect a family-run idyllic getaway, with heaps of friendly personalised advice. They do the job well, but in a slightly standardized way.

After a bad experience in Arromanches the previous night, it was a relief to stay here. We got a decent rate but the hotel is shabby and tired and the breakfast of poor quality. Staff were not particularly amiable. Average hotel but again overpriced.
