For a few extra euros, I recommend the recentlly renovated rooms at the Trouville Mercure. They are on the small side but perfectly nice, extremely quiet and include extras such as slippers, a bathrobe, a bottle of mineral water, and everything you need to make tea or coffee. Renovation somehow did not reach so far as the bathroom taps, which seemed a little tired but worked fine. A good deal at 115 euros in low-season December.
Staff were very friendly but I am French and this was a quiet period, which probably helps: the crowds are overwhelming in summer .
I didn't have breakfast here because there are so many wonderful cafés in the area which offer a better deal. Besides, you came to Trouville to see Trouville, didn't you?!
Location remains the Mercure's best asset: it's probably the most central hotel in town. But a Mercure is a Mercure... So don't expect a family-run idyllic getaway, with heaps of friendly personalised advice. They do the job well, but in a slightly standardized way.

After a bad experience in Arromanches the previous night, it was a relief to stay here. We got a decent rate but the hotel is shabby and tired and the breakfast of poor quality. Staff were not particularly amiable. Average hotel but again overpriced.

After staying at the excellent Mercure in Honfluer this was a let down. We booked a non smoking room. When we arrived they had none. The hotel has a bit of a "tired" appearance. Our Air Conditioning didn't work. Breakfast was a joke, loads of un-cleared tables. very limited choice of selection from the buffet, dis-interested staff. I expected much more for 125 euros!

We stayed for four nights in the "high" August season, and were very satisfied with this hotel. The room was small, and pretty basic, but very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not take breakfast in the hotel - far too many tempting patisseries within an easy walk.

The hotel is in a great location for the beach (5 minutes), Trouville's excellent restaurants (outstanding seafood) are on your doorstep, and the main noise is from the seagulls!

Deauville - both town and racecourse - are about a twenty minute walk, if you want to spend some serious money.
