I used the hotel as a ferry stopover, the triple room was cramped but functional. The main drawback was the musty smell to the room. The hotel is convenient for the peace memorial, however I will find alternatives in the future. The TV channel selection was good and included BBC 1.

I went with four friends to normandy.Our room was quite big and there was a t.v, a double bed and a single we didnt expect to have to share a double bed and find pants on the floor!.Athough we did like he breakfast where we were served croissants and cereal.There wasnt much on the menu but the food was ok.personaly i expected better.

I cannot understand the bad reviws this hotel has been getting.My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of an organised visit to Caen, Bayeux , the "D-Day" beaches and Mont St. Michel.Our coach was delayed by very heavy Easter traffic around Caen but the hotel staff were very obliging ,seeing we got qutickly settled into our rooms and speedily providing us with an excellent late dinner.Rooms were small-but after all this is a" 2-star "hotel.However, the rooms were clean and comfortable-there was plenty of storage space.We had a flat screen TV-secured to the wall-not a trolley!The 2 dinners we ate in the hotel were very good- especially the sirloin steak and the dessert of "3 Normandy Cheeses."For a "2-star "hotel this is excellent value- do not be put off by other negative reviews.

So many bad reviews deserve some balancing out. This hotel is perfectly adequate for the budget traveller who needs a cheap night just off the motorway with plenty of parking and a good continental breakfast. Rooms are small but OK. Hair dryer, tea and coffee in room, TV and phone is good for a small 2 star. Wi Fi available. A couple of points to remember: The reception closes at 10pm (9pm on the Sunday I arrived). After that reception is locked until early morning. You can still get in and out of the hotel but there's no-one on a desk. They cater a lot for groups of students. Be prepared at certain times of the year (vacation times) for noisy student activity. Don't go if you want luxury but if you understand what 2 star means, you'll be fine. Breakfast is a very good continental with meat, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs, and al the usual cereals and breads.
