I stayed here with my son for a visit to the Normandy battle sites and to charming coastal towns (Deauville, Honfleur). The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful; the rooms are clean and quiet. Like those of so many hotels in France, the rooms are small by American standards, but more than sufficient. The breakfast on the 5th floor is fine. This is a very good choice as a base for touring the Normany area, including the D Day sites. The Memorial museum in Caen is a must-see for anyone interested in the cruel history of WW II and the D Day invasion.

When I arrived at this hotel I was disappointed. The outside and recepton area are fairly dated. However when we arrived at our room all disappointed dispersed. The room was modern, clean and welcoming. This was the first time I had stayed at a Best Western and it shattered my pre-conceived ideas. Breakfast however was a disappointment but overall a pleasant stay.

I stayed in this hotel after a trip in Paris. The second night, my neighbor decided to ear for music during all the night and I couldn't sleep. I tried to contact the front desk to warm them, but someone who was certainly asleep answered very badly, and basically told me to go back to sleep.

Stayed at the Hotel Moderne on business and overall the hotel was good. The hotel is in a good central location in Caen and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower with a seperate bath. The only downside to the hotel was that it didnt have its own restaurant , but the helpful receptionist recommended several restaurants nearby.
