Caen doesn't offer much as a city for young sight seers, but we were staying there as a jumping point to Normandy and Mont St. Michel. This hotel was lovely, very clean, nice but dated rooms, elevator and parking out back. The staff was lovely and very helpful with directions to the beaches of Normandy. They offered a breakfast in the morning - continental and worth the several euro. The hotel is easy to find off the peripherique. Worth the stay if you're driving through from Paris and need a stop over.

We've just returned to the UK from Caen. We were very well looked after by the small team of staff and quite frankly, have no complaints. The facility is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Caen, where there are plenty of resturants/bars etc. We stayed in the hotel for 2 evenings - the food was very good, as was the service from the small bar. We'll return!

This was an OK hotel for our one night stay in Caen. You'll need a car or public transportation to reach the Old City, the Ducal Palace, or the Memorial Museum. It's a basic 2-star hotel, but the room was pretty small, even for a family room. It was a bit weird as the toilet was in one corner of the room, and the bathroom (clean and updated) was in the other corner. The room was clean overall, wifi was available free of charge, free parking also available on-site and free.

This hotel was located in a residential area, which meant that it was
very quiet. It was fairly convenient for public transportation and there were several restaurants and so on in the area, although they were all closed for the summer holiday when we arrived. Our room was very much like someone's spare bedroom, with a fairly large bathroom and a reasonable amount of space. The one curious (and very French, I'm told) feature was that you had to climb up a few stairs in order to reach the elevator. It was obviously a convenience for carrying luggage, not a means of making it accessible to disabled people!

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was adequate, if a bit dull. However, it was a good base for travelling around Normandy by train, and I would stay there again. It was a bit elderly but not shabby, and seemed like good value for money.
