Hotel is very central. Close to Pont de Churchill. Being on Rue de la Gare it is fairly easy to find by following Gare SNCF signs.
Rooms perfectly adequate for a city hotel - Nespresso coffee machine in room. Breakfast - plenty of choice: croissants,bread, toaster, ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, fruit juice, tea, coffee.
Bar in hotel although we did not use it.
Parking in yard free. Parking on street free at week-ends.
Handy restaurant across bridge: La Boucherie.
Caen is convenient for visiting WWII site - beaches, Pegasus etc.

Pros - near train station, very affordable, great sound proof windows, free wifi, elevator, nice breakfast room (I didn't have breakfast.), nice staff, modern bath fixtures (to make up for the old bedspread.)
Cons - my room (405) got terribly HOT! I could keep windows open during day but not when I went to bed because of the street noise. Turned on AC and it got hotter. The rest of the building temperature was fine. Told the receptionist but later realized she didn't speak English.

This hotel belongs to the Inter-Hotel chain in France, which means nice, reasonably priced 2 and 3 star hotels. Good as a touring base. The hotel is located near the rail station and is a 10 minute walk to town center. The hotel is clean, quiet and the room we had was spacious. Breakfast was a decent continental affair. The staff was pleasant but the woman working the day shift didn't speak a word of English and looked surprised that I addressed her in that esoteric language! I may as well have spoken Hebrew to her!
