My husband and I spent 3 days in Bayeux. We chose this hotel because of location, price and availability. We were delightfully surprised. Anthony, who is the proprietor speaks perfect English and takes pride in his guesthouse. Every room was beautifully decorated. It's an old property, but kept up magnificantly. The bathroom was sparkling clean, the heating worked well and it was quiet. We had internet service if needed as well as satellite TV which we rarely used. If we are ever remotely close to Bayeux, we will be staying here.

Upon entering the courtyard, we knew this was a special place. The home is exquisite. Decorated so beautifully. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 1 bath suite with our 2 teenage boys. Very quiet and peaceful. Location was perfect. just a couple of blocks from the main street and down the street from the Tapestry and the the Cathedral. The only negatives were that the hot water in the shower did not last for all 4 of us, the bath towels were small and old and we could hear people walking loudly above us very early in the morning.

We had a great stay at the Tardif. The manager speaks perfect English and was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. While filled with antiques, the furnishing were still comfortable and the bathroom in our family room was recently remodeled and in perfect, modern condition. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this lovely, quiet spot. It is also centrally located to walk to other sites worth a visit in Bayeux like the Cathedral, and the Bayeux Tapestry. If you are looking for a great spot for dinner, Le Pommier is only about three blocks away, walk past the Cathedral and go right a block and it will be on your left. This street has several other restaurants worth trying as well.

As others have said this is a small, well-located B&B, clean, with fairly large rooms, antiques and a very local feel to it. Breakfast is very good and feels basically like a genuine homemade French meal. Cable TV is provided, but not a phone which seems quite odd. The town and mentioned sites are walking distance. The proprietor is friendly and speaks perfect English, but he sent us to a distant restaurant (without a car), that was very expensive and not very good. The furniture, no doubt, are valuable antiques as are many of the interesting objects around the house, but some of the seating could use a little work, as well as, the beds. In all, I understand many of the rave reviews and would say this hotel is quite a nice find, but could do a little better.
