“Clean Motel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We spent 2 nights in Bayeux in late September. We felt the motel was a good value for the price, although the room was small even by French standards. It was very clean and quiet and we had no problems seeing the sites in Bayeux even though the motel is located about 15 min. from town. At the second roundabout from the hotel, there is a free parking lot behind the Bayeux Tapestry Musuem. From there, you can walk all over town. We also parked in this lot when we went on our all day D-Day Beaches Tour. We ate one night in the restaurant and I would rate the restaurant as only average. We did not find the female receptionist very helpful. She could not point out on the map where the square was where we were to meet for our D-Day Tour nor would she make the local phone call to confirm our tour the following day. She wasn't rude, but I felt she did not want to be bothered. We went to the Tourist Information office where they confirmed the tour for us and indicated where we should meet.

“Definitely a 2-star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

I mean, it was ok...clean and comfortable. VERY quiet. It was just not like other hotels, in that it was quite stark, almost hostel like in nature. Two twin beds in a small room, and no carpet. It didn't have anything extra special that is for sure. Oh, except for crickets. It had a couple of those. Our room backed to a field with cows and frogs, which I thought was quite endearing, but then I used to live in the country. The crickets were only trouble-some at night if you had to get up and go to the bathroom, and when you turned on the light they scurried around. Kinda creepy. I think if the room you end up with is used by a lot of other people, you wouldn't have the cricket problem. Or maybe that is just the result of being next to that field. Anyway, it was ok. We survived. And slept quite well.

“Lovely, clean, good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was small (as are virtually all French hotel rooms), but very clean and modern. One of the nicest bathrooms we had during our trip. We did have dinner there one night, and it was very good and fairly average in price. We never bought breakfast at our hotels in France, as they are very overpriced--just buy a croissant and juice at a supermarket or bakery. We were lucky enough to stay on the side of the hotel with a lovely view of the town and cathedral over a field with a few dairy cows. Town center is about a 10 minute walk, as is the train station. Only downside is there is not a sidewalk for about 400 m of the way, so we pulled our suitcase across the gravel path with some difficulty. Hopefully they build a sidewalk soon (or maybe we should've just taken a taxi).

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of the cathedral.

“Excellent value, clean and functional”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

I only stayed for one night but we used the meeting room facility and had lunch, dinner and breakfast all of which were fine. The room was small but clean and tidy.

My rating takes account of the prices charged.

“Nice and clean Motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

I was with my wife in this Motel for 2 nights. The place is located on the perimeter of town of Bayeux and my GPS didn't found it at all.
The style is more like Motel, not typical Hotel. There is no elevator in this two stors building with connecting walkway outside.
Since the location is in the country, therefore there is a beautiful feeling of being in the country place with typical smell of grass.
The reception building includes also a very good restaurant with tasty meals at reasonable prices. Of course, there is no problem of parking, since there are many parking lofts around.
