The room itself was large and reasonably attractive. The hotel itself was somewhat quaint. The location was directly behind the main street of the town, so near to shops and restaurants. But, the main criteria for a hotel should be whether or not you got a good night's sleep, and we definitely did not. The room itself was too hot for sleeping comfortably, and there were no fans provided (we asked)--leaving our window open was impossible, because the noise of the traffic on the street directly below (we were on the second floor) was very loud. The mattress sagged terribly in the middle--halfway through the night, I got down on the floor and slept on the covers we had thrown down there. There was no sleep to be had here. The bathroom was large, and the closet was large. It was only two blocks from an excellent restaurant--Le Pommier (reservations needed). I would never stay in this place again. We also had some friends who stayed in Bayeux, at The Churchhhill (which is the number one rated hotel on this site), and they reported a bad night's sleep as well, so maybe it is just as well to skip Bayeux and find a hotel elsewhere. The main street is charming--the town is worth a lookabout, and the retaurant Le Pommier is great, but otherwise, find a better hotel elsewhere.
