Stayed here after a very long train journey so looking for somewhere to basically eat, drink & sleep in order set off early the next morning. We arrived at 6.30pm and when we asked to eat in the restaurant the unhelpful receptionist pointed to a newly written sign on the desk to say it was closed all that weekend - certainly no mention of that on the website! She suggested we went back to the station to eat but it was mostly fast food although we eventually did find a brasserie nearby. The hotel bar was closed all evening too. Although handy for the TGV station (10 -15 minutes walk) the area is run down and felt unsafe. Construction sites, motorways and a large empty park where we had to walk around a couple of guys lying comatose (drunk or drugged?) on the footpath - and this was in daylight! On the plus side the room was clean although small, the (cold buffet) breakfast was good and overall it was a cheap deal - you certainly get what you pay for!!

well its very average. it is far from the city.
our room was tidy, but very small, no room for baggage (no hanging space, draws, safe etc)
really would not recomend anyone stay here.

Booked for a deep purple gig. The venue was a short walk away. Good car parking. The station was not too far. About a 15/20 minute walk to the pretty town centre. So pretty well situated. The room was functional, my bed clean and comfy. The bathroom tiny but again functional. Staff helpful and pleasant. If you are looking for a room to spend time in then not recommended, if you want somewhere that is central and decent value then recommended.

My husband and I stayed here on route back to London after being stranded in Barcelona by the no fly mess in the UK. It was booked by my in-laws.

This is a terrible hotel and I honestly cannot believe some of the other reviews. It is in a very dodgy area and it isn't close to the train station. You have to walk past open building sites and and under a motorway flypass to get into lille. There was plenty of suspicious characters on route as well. We practically sprinted from the metro station to the hotel in the evening to get back (we stayed out as long as possible so we would spend the least amount of time possible in the room)

The room was probably the worst I have ever stayed in (and I include my backpacking days in this). Very small and damp. Bizarre heating. Filthy bedding and rotting carpet. The bathroom was little more then a closet. We had people trying to get into our room 'by accident' and there was no way to bolt the door from within. We were told check out was at 11 but at 9 the clearer was trying to barge in. Thankfully, feeling incredibly unsafe, I put our locked suitcase by the door or else she would have got in.

The young fellow on reception was friendly enough. I can't comment on the food - would have rather gone hungry then try it. 8 euros seemed excessive for breakfast esp when you can get into lille and get some pastries there for a fraction of the price.
