Hotel is located about 2km away from the centre of town, but has a convenient tram stop nearby. Reception staff was welcoming and helpful with directions.

Two problems: first, access to the hotel car park is very difficult for large cars (the paint marks on the entrance walls are a sad testimony), so we ended parking our car in town and using the tram. Second, the hotel a/c system smells of cigarette smoke. Our room had a particularly smoky smell and during the night the a/c started making strange noises, so we had to ask for a room change. Unfortunately, same smell through the vents there as well.

A one night stay involved too much wasted time dealing with parking logistics and room change. We are keen Best Western clients, but we probably will not return to this hotel.

V short (5 mins max) tram ride to heart of Lille and Eurostar terminal. Charming building in leafy area, plenty of character if a little dated in places. Cosy, romantic breaks recommended!

Having made the booking before checking this website I was a little concerned, but we were very happy with the rooms, the art deco look and feel and the fact that it is only 2 tram stops from the center of Lille and 1 stop to the Lille International train station. If you buy a "zap" ticket it is less than 1 euro and there are 4-5 trams per hour at weekends/bank holidays, more during the week. Unfortunately we were staying on a Sunday so local restaurants were closed, but in 10 minutes were were in the city center with a vast array of restaurants and things to do. The receptionist could have been a bit more customer-friendly but it didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.

WE decided to write a review becaue we were surprised by some of the negative comments. Room sizes are given on the booking.com website, so you should know if you are getting a small one. Admittedly parking would be difficult for anyone with a large car and poor spatial abilities, but was otherwise secure and convenient. The centre of Lille was just two tram stops away, and the tram was outside the door. The helpful receptionist directed us to a street full of affordable restaurants at Rue de Gand, ten minutes walk away. Breakfast was varied and delicious and no sign of locusts during our visit! We would stay there again.
