The first thing I found was a cockroach in my bath, which isn't the best to feel comfortable at midnight when you're arriving really tired, the second thing was a noisy night with the sound of the street, the third thing was a very poor breakfast, the total is a place the only advantage is to be close to the stations!

close to everything and cheap ;nice breakfast room with full view over city centre ; very good deal in all respects ; we used it as a stop over on our way to brussels but it was also good for sightseeing in Lille as it is right off Vieux Lille and other nice spots ; a huge shopping center is also nearby

This is the 3rd time at Hotel Lille Europe for a 2 night break both times. I have read others' comments and there are always moaners!

It is literally 5 minutes walk from Eurostar and very close to all amenities.

Yes our room smelt slightly this time round but we only slept in the room and didn't spend hours in it!

The breakfast was perfectly adequate and in a lovely airy setting.

Would recommend for a short break at good prices.

This hotel was poorer than what I expected given the relatively high rating on tripadvisor.

It is certainly close to the train stations, and also very close to the shopping centre, so that was good.

They would not allow us to check in at midday, asking us to return at 3. Initially got a room at the back of the hotel, but there was a funny, unpleasant smell in the room, so asked to change room. Then got a room facing the street, which has much brighter feel, even though it would be noisier. The bad smell was somewhat less in the second room, but still present nonetheless.

Room itself was small, free wi fi was OK, small bathroom but OK. No room safe. The buffet breakfast was OK.

We had prepaid for two nights, and this was the first time in our travels that I even consider leaving early and finding another hotel to stay. The odour issue.
