“Hotel great for extended stays”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

This was our first trip to Europe and we heard there is a lot of walking involved. Hence, we did some research and chose this hotel for its proximity to Lille Europe (Eurostar station) as well as Lille Flanders (local train station). This hotel is walking distance from both and as we were planning to travel to other countries also by train for day trips, this hotel was aptly situated.

The hotel is unassuming from the front but as you enter, you get a feel of the space inside. The rooms are huge with a separate kitchenette complete with cutlery and soaps and detergents. The bathrooms are clean with a bath provided. There is free cable internet but no room service. However, you can order food from outside or cook as well if you please. Apart from the standard fridge and TV, the room is provided with a hot plate, a dishwasher and a microwave.

The room was provided with a table fan, huge cupboards, extra pillows and extra quilt which was hugely appreciated.

The only discomfort we experienced was the bedsit. The room is huge and it could have been easily provided with a bed but they opted for a bedsit which took sometime to figure out how to open despite the instructions. It was not very comfortable to sleep on even though it was roomy.

The staff was very helpful but there was no room service. If you wanted an adaptor or an extra pillow, you had to go to the reception yourself.

The hotel which I would prefer to call a service apartment provides value for money if you want to stay for a week or more and is cheaper than an actual hotel.

“We have travelled with the children everywhere, never we have stayed in a worst hotel!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

The rooms we were given at this aparthotel were disgusting. furniture out of 70's film, toilet was noisy all night, the carpets were extremely filthy and discoloured, light switch were grubby, the shower pipes were fixed with sticky tape, the breakfast was mediocre and self service, the table where we ate was dirty, the coffee undrinkable. Overall I would not recommend it to my worse enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Good value for money, easy access to dtn, attached to Eurolille station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

Did not know that the hotel would be inside of the trainstation/shopping centre attached to the trainstation.

The location is within walking distance of the old centre of Lille. The rooms are sparse and simply decorated but comfortable, quiet (given that they are above the trainstation) and bathroom clean with all amenities.

Free internet was helpful. If you drive a car, the hotel had a reasonably priced parking lot, when checking in just double park to get the info and registration as there is no easy parking and you can't get into the hotel lot until you have checked in. When you leave it is awkward to get the parking pass back to the hotel, once again, double park and run acrosss the street to give the pass back..

I had the pull out chouch room but it was comfortable enough, would go there again..

“Time to Change the Sofa Beds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

First, the pros. The room contained a small kitchen, well equiped (including dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, sponge and clean teatowels) and a spacious lounge with a sofabed, desk, small table and wired internet access (which strangely would not reach the desk). The bed was made up with spotless, crisp, white sheets on our arrival and the room and bathroom were clean and in good order. There was loads of hanging space and lots of shelving in the wardrobe and around the desk. The hotel is next to Flanders Station and above a big shopping centre, which includes a supermarket, and a five minute walk to the centre of Lille. If you chose not to use the kitchen, Lille is full of restaurants, they are everywhere.
Second, the cons. The sofa bed, which has an ingenious method of folding while still a made up bed, was extremly uncomfortable, I think it was just worn out, it dipped in the middle and as there was two of us staying that's where we both ended up sleeping...or not. The soundproofing of the building seems to have been omitted! We were aware of every shower taken, and toilet flushed in our side of the building for the three days of our stay, you could also hear doors being closed in the adjacent room.
Having said that, I would stay again, but book the studio room with a seperate bedroom and a bed!

“Great location and good for self catering”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

The hotel is very convieniently placed within minutes of the Eurostar station and the Lille Flanders Station, but this also means there is plenty of noise from the station and the road, although this did not bother us too much. A short walk to all the sights and the more picturesque old town, with plenty of bars, cafes and resaurants nearby.

The room was well equipped, we stayed in an appartment room and there was loads of space, with a seperate bedroom, lounge/diner, bathroom, toilet and kichenette. Although the furnishings are looking a bit tired now and our CD player did not work. The kichenette was the main reason we chose the hotel and having the seperate bedroom and lounge, which meant there was loads of room to eat/lounge. This was great as France and eating/drinking out is very expensive right now! We cooked lunch or dinner most days and we had everyting we needed, although the kichenette is a little cramped.

Generally we were pleased with the hotel considering the price and the location, the staff were very friendly and it had everything we needed. My only reservations would be that we had a problem with mosquitos coming in through the air vents (very strange being on the 10th floor), as previous reviewers have mentioned the sofa beds are very squeeky and noisy and also the hotel was renovating the room next door which led to banging and drillings from 8am.
