This was our first trip to Europe and we heard there is a lot of walking involved. Hence, we did some research and chose this hotel for its proximity to Lille Europe (Eurostar station) as well as Lille Flanders (local train station). This hotel is walking distance from both and as we were planning to travel to other countries also by train for day trips, this hotel was aptly situated.
The hotel is unassuming from the front but as you enter, you get a feel of the space inside. The rooms are huge with a separate kitchenette complete with cutlery and soaps and detergents. The bathrooms are clean with a bath provided. There is free cable internet but no room service. However, you can order food from outside or cook as well if you please. Apart from the standard fridge and TV, the room is provided with a hot plate, a dishwasher and a microwave.
The room was provided with a table fan, huge cupboards, extra pillows and extra quilt which was hugely appreciated.
The only discomfort we experienced was the bedsit. The room is huge and it could have been easily provided with a bed but they opted for a bedsit which took sometime to figure out how to open despite the instructions. It was not very comfortable to sleep on even though it was roomy.
The staff was very helpful but there was no room service. If you wanted an adaptor or an extra pillow, you had to go to the reception yourself.
The hotel which I would prefer to call a service apartment provides value for money if you want to stay for a week or more and is cheaper than an actual hotel.
