Having attended a conference here a few years ago, I decided it would be a nice place to stay when I returned to Lille with my partner for a weekend break. The hotel is in a lovely location, tucked away in a renovated canal area. It is very close to the old town and many shops, bars and restaurants. However, it is a long walk to the Eurostar terminal and I would recommend a taxi if you have much luggage.
The hotel is a beautiful converted building and it has a very calm atmosphere. The public areas are particularly well done, and it is very popular as a conference venue. The bedrooms are less special - we got a deal on the accommodation, so I am sure that we were staying in one of the more basic rooms. However, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
The breakfast was good - we didn't need much lunch afterwards. We didn't eat in the restaurant - it looked expensive and there are so many interesting restaurants in Lille that we preferred to eat out each evening. However, we did visit the bar a couple of times. Whilst quite expensive, I can thoroughly recommend the cocktails!
We would stay there again.
