In spite of great friendly staff the hotel needs not only a re-vamp but some serious issues being addressed.
1. the stench of the sewers in the left wing of the hotel was unbearable for some of my colleagues.
2. The internet is absolutely useless, I would rather pay 12 euros for a solid decent consistent connection that not only bumped on and off at crucial moments, but also was in some kind of loop which referred back to the hotel web, and then to Yahoo and meant work on line was lost over and over again
3. the breakfast, even for French breakfast was very bad standard, powdered eggs for 16 euro breakfast is not really acceptable.
4.Like many old Holiday Inns it's a glasshouse which is pretty unbearable in any of the communal areas the minute temperatures start to warm up.
5. The furniture is really getting pretty shabby.
I would say in spite of the staff and the central location, find somewhere else to stay in Toulouse

It has a decent enough lobby and the staff is friendly, but when I got off of the elevator I was greeted with a strong fecal stench that the front desk staff denied was there. When the cleaning staff came in the morning, EVERY window in the hallway was opened ... so I guess SOMEBODY noticed. Wifi was free, which is a rarity in Europe ... but you would still expect it to be useful which it was not. I had to refresh the credential page every few minutes or so.

OK, so I booked in advance on a deal at €99 per night, and boy do I regret it! The room is small, the corridors smell of ... either cheese or drains - I haven't quite placed it yet! The decor is not just 1970's style - I'm sure that was when it was last done!
I can only stand up straight in half of the room, and I'm glad to be going tomorrow. I have to stoop in the shower - and I'm only just 6 foot tall. The shower head hose is about 6 inches too short.
I think the breakfast is overpriced at €16, since I'd probably only have a coffee and a croisant anyway. Much better to go around the corner and get the same for less than €5.
I shan't be staying here again.

Very friendly staff. Room adequate in size with a good bathroom. Excellent restaurant popular with local business people. Great location. We were very happy.
