We had booked a Crusader Tour to France and I looked up this hotel on trip advisor and was fearing the worse.
But we liked it and so did our tour group. It is in a perfect position and the grounds are level. We were in the main building where the reception centre is and also the breakfast room.. We were up one flight of stairs which we did walk up and down a lot, it could have been worse. It was practise for the stairs of Rocamadour. There is a large half covered pool, a paved patio and lounges in reception.
To go to dinner you need to walk a little to the restaurant but twice we had dinner out under the trees/stars. Opposite this restaurant there is a bar where we ended up after the main meal for coffee, wine and specially made iced coffee..- mention the couple from Australia if you ask for iced coffee.
From this hotel you can walk down to the medieval village with all the shops and restaurants, it is a longish pathway. You can catch the lift both both down and up from our hotel, if you do not want to walk. There is a small village you go through before the hotel which has fabulous views and also shops and restaurants..
We had no problems with the food, each meal was different followed by local cheese and desert.
Tips
1. Put in a swimming costume
2. Put in a small electic jug/birko and cups. There is no fridge so you will need powdered milk or similar, tea bags etc. There is a small supermarket near the tourist bureau in the village.
3. We found the Rocamadour village down below the best prices and regret not buying our presents/souveneirs there.
4. Make sure if you go on a tour you get a map of the area.
5. Make sure you say 'Bonjour - good day, Merci - thankyou and Aurevour - goodbye all the time to everyone who is French and you will get good service and happy faces.
I could not rate this hotel for value as it was in a bed and breakfast and dinner deal with Crusader Tours
