This hotel is relatively expensive as is the restaurant. The room was Euro 270 and the menu Euro 55. Even when the place was newly renovated it must have been a bodge and that must have been some time ago judging from the state of it now. The imitation wood, plastic floor in reception sets the scene so the chips, dents, cracks and gross signs of wear don't come as a complete surprise.

The restaurant could have been the redeaming feature but the meal was poor by any standards.

It is appalling that it is in the Relais & Chateaux guide.

It is a very old Chateau that has been unter the same ownership for 40 years. It is obvious that the present owner is not reinvesting in the property. The meal was good, not great and not imaginative. I have read that the nearby Chateau de la Treyne is much better.

An amazing chateau - warm and charming hosts, wonderful food and terrific atmosphere. We were made to feel very much at home. And for a final touch. . . Jacque, the official greeter and departure host. We will DEFINATELY return to this time machine to wisk us back to a different time and age!
