Although quite ordinary looking from outside, you get transported back to history as soon as you reach the hotel reception desk. The staff are very helpful and courteous and do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. The adjacent restaurant serves mouthwatering dishes ranking quite high on the "gastronomic" scale...
Sightseeing the close-by castle and chapels is quite easy but be prepared to climb a lot to reach your nirvana.
Don't forget to drive a few kilometers to discover the "Gouffre" in Padirac which is the second most visited underground cave in France.
I will definitely stay at BEST WESTERN Beau Site Notre Dame should I go back to Rocamadour again.

Charming as Rocamadour is, one of the best ways to know the quaint little town is to witness both sunset and sunrise over the valley. The Beau Site Notre Dame hotel provided the perfect balance between comfort and excellent location, all while preserving local style and discretion. The staff were really helpful with logistics (putting the car away) as well as recommendations on how and when to visit the religious ensemble (chateau and sanctuary levels). Breakfast on the open terrace was also a high point of the stay. A definite recommendation if you wish to stay overnight at this magic spot in Southern France.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Beau Site Hotel in Rocamadour during our trip to France with Treyn holidays and found it was everything people had said about this hotel.
m couln`t be faulted with a view to the cathedral at the top of the rock. The room, bathroom and toilet were very clean and a patio just outside the room was a welcome place to sunbathe as the temperature was in the 90`s every day, although the air conditioning in the room was very good and quiet. Meals were taken in the restaurant across the road with a continental breakfast and a 4 course evening meal with a fabulous view over the gorge below Rocamadour. The food was exceptionally good even though it was a group tour and sometimes hotels skimp on food, but not here. Red wine was also provided for free on each table. The hotel being in the centre of Rocamadour is ideally located for exploring the town and is next to the lift which takes people halfway up the cliff. A funicular goes to the top of the cliff but beware you have to pay seperately for each lift. We certainly recommend anyone visiting Rocamadour should try to stay at the Hotel Beau Site, you will not be disappointed.

The hotel is lovely, with terrific views of the valley and the town. We stayed in the newer 'annex', which is right across a tiny street and over the restaurant. It was modern, tasteful, and very nice. Nadine, in reception, was extremely helpful when we had any requests. She made phone calls for us and helped us with any concerns. Overall, a wonderful 4 night stay.
