Just Absolutely Perfect Sums the Victoria Garden Foch Up - Spent 3 nights here from the 23rd September with my Husband in a Studio Suite. We requested a Mountain View which was honoured. We left Tarbes Airport and skirted around the ring round to avoid going into Lourdes and the journey was only 15 mins door to door - Victoria Garden Foch very easy to find, two large Supermarkets on the way and a large Supermarket just around the Corner. Loads of Parking which is just Fab as parking in Lourdes is a nighmare and not many hotels do have parking (especially free parking). The main entrance to the apartments is key-coded for extra safety which is very reassuring (although, I have to comment that it is a lovely quiet residential area and the locals are so friendly and welcoming). A lovely pleasant easy stroll into town took us about 5 mins - there are a couple of nice outdoor restaurants on the way in the square by the outdoor market which we ate at and both very good. We walked back both evenings pretty late and never felt anything other than very safe. Studio, spotlessly clean (they provide everything you need and more) microwave, fridge, coffee perculator, towels, sheets, blankets and really comfortable pillows), all cutlery etc, pots and pans also included (very well stocked) and I wasnt expecting toileteries but they were also included in the bathroom. Very large Balcony with four chairs and a table - can't fault it was just perfect for what we wanted. Reception staff so very friendly and helpful. Love the Victoria Garden Foch and can't wait to return again soon - The bed is a pull-out double bed and it was so comfortable we slept perfect (two bunk beds in room also_), if you were staying with a family I would think you would be better in a Junior Suite. But, the Studio Suite perfect for us two. - Merci
Stayed here for 3 nights for a friends wedding recently. For the price we paid it was a great little find. Whilst the bed wasn't the comfiest (it was a pull out sofa bed) the room was spacious, the shower was great, the breakfast was adequate, there was plenty of parking, the room was very quiet and the reception staff were very friendly. As long as you can manage a short walk to the centre (15mins or so) I would definately recommend this hotel.
With food being so expensive throughout Europe, it was good to be able to prepare our own food. The room had a fridge, microwave and stove, although the fridge door wasn't attached properly. The bed was not comfortable - it was only a pull-out sofa bed. I wasn't able to get the internet connection to work. The sanctuary is only about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
This appartment block is a sister building to the Vicotria Gardens in Lourdes town.
The building is new and has some fantastic views of the mountains (particularly from the balconies on the fourth floor). However, some of the apartment (particularly the wardrobes) were a little shoddily put together and not of a great standard - a couple of the sliding doors fell out!
Regarding location, it is a pretty long walk to the shrine with nothing to do at night nearby.
Whilst the appartment is very well equipped it was noticeable that much of the inventory wasn't there.
Would definitely recommend for a cheap clean accomdation in Lourdes - there aren't too many of them around. Just don't expect the standards you get in other towns / countries.
