My mom and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We had previously visited Lourdes about 20 years ago, and this hotel was definitely an improvement from the last Lourdes hotel we stayed in. This one had much more modern amenities, and more spacious lobby area. This hotel has a great location, and is withn 5 min walk to the sanctuaries.
Breakfast was decent selection - suprisingly better than the hotel breakfast we had in Paris. The buffet also includes serve yourself coffee. It woud probably be helpful if there is a sign which indicates that coffee is serve yourself. We were waiting at our table to be served coffee for a little while until we realized that we were to get it at the buffet. Needless to say, the hospitality at the breakfast buffet is lacking.
Internet is available through a shared computer in the lobby. The compuer was old, and the internet connection was slow at times. Both the computer and the internet connection could use an upgrade.
Rooms are typically small, old French period style, but clean. We had A/C in our room. Hallways are creepy at night because they have motion sensor lights. Otherwise, the hallways are completely dark. I recommend for the hotel to install some hallway lighting that is permanently on because of safety issues. It seems unsafe to have dark hallways - especially with numerous disabled people who travel to Lourdes.
Some of the reception desk staff were friendly, but others were less friendly. My biggest complaint was with one of the hotel reception desk staff. We asked some basic questions about the activities at the sanctuaries, and her usual response was, "I don't know. Go ask the Sanctuary Information desk." She did not go out of her way to help us,or to call the Sanctuary info desk for more info. You would think that all hotels have info about the Sanctuaries at their fingertips since that is the main reason why most people travel to Lourdes.
All in all, I would still recommend this hotel, but with some reservations.
