I make a pilgrimage to Lourdes with a small group every few years. It happened that I went this year and stayed for the first time in the Agena. This hotel is a small family run hotel. In our group of 24 no one had any complaint, on the contrary all felt welcomed and attended to. The staff were exceptionally personable, any request was attended to and difficulties resolved. The food was good and substantial, there was a fixed daily menu but individual preferences were always accommodated. Rooms are small but very adequate and housekeeping carried out each day discretely and at suitable times. The only critical observation I would have is that the internet connection on the foyer computer was not available most of the time, it was complicated to access even when working. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Agena.

Breakfast was a disappointing experience. Poor selection of cereal choice which in my opinion was of low quality, possibly "supermarket own brand" and the bread choice was basic, staff often having to replenish as not enough displayed and guests had to request more. At each table guests were provided with one croissant per place - some places did not have one and staff advised guests to take one from another setting! No choice of breakfast juice, just what appeared to be diluted orange, some days more diluted (watered down) than others.Rooms small but adequate, same description applied to meals. Staff generally pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my stay in Lourdes but I would not stay at this hotel in future nor would I recommend it to friends

Stayed 5 nights in the Agena with Our Lady of Lourdes Pilgimage Society and had a ball, the hotel is in an excellent location within 5 minutes of the grotto.

The staff in the hotel were excellent and could not do enough for the group, Veronique and Shirley in reception to George, Jacque and the gang in the dining room. The food and service was excellent and indivual tastes were catered for with extra chips, helpings, ice cream etc.

The kids in the hotel were treated very well and enjoyed all the tricks that George played on them.

Rooms were adequate and very clean, and the lounge area was very comfortable.

i really enjoyed my stay here, staff were fantastic and very nice and helpful. food was good too esp the croissants and soups. caters for irish very well because they cook poatoes and had gaa there on sundays. v near grotto too. rooms were grand beds v comfortable.
