“Unique & Peaceful Cussac”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2007

Lodged 2 nights at Ch de Cussac. An historical property within easy day-trip drive of Albi, Cordes and other "must see" towns. We stayed in the Four Poster Suite. Great. The time of year produced nice cool weather with a quiet and unique ambiance which suited us very well. Our stay was thoroughly easy-going and the Host very cordial. Sorry we didn't get to lounge the pool! A bit too cool at this time. The directions given from Toulouse were accurate and easy to follow. Even if you took a wrong turn, the countryside was a delight to see. We would gladly stay again.

“Warm and wonderful getaway”

Leslie Hall, who relocated to Albi from England, owns the charming Chateau de Cussac -- a 15th Century manor house about 8 miles outside of Albi -- and runs it as a B&B with her two young daughters. My wife and I arrived in the afternoon, were served drinks and snacks outside when we arrived, and were shown to our room -- the Four Poster Suite, two interconnecting bedrooms which would have comfortably accommodated a family of four. We ate a wonderful meal in the dining room, and slept in a queen-sized oak four-poster bed. We swam in the outdoor pool and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Leslie and the girls treated us like family, and the bill for a two-night stay, including a dinner for two and a delightful breakfast both mornings, was extremely reasonable. It would be a joy to return some day, when we find ourselves in Southwest France again.

  • Liked — The charm and family atmosphere of the place, and the owner and her children.
  • Tips/Secrets — Spend more than a night, and a rental car is essential.
