Even disregarding the service, the place is overpriced - anywhere else we went after that, we payed less for a similar standard. In all fairness, the rooms were fine and tidy, nothing to complain about, and the grounds were pretty, hammocks were provided, and it was quiet. The food was also not bad. However I'd rather stay in a shack and eat plain rice or northing at all, but be treated in a friendly way!

We arrived at Hotel New York, optimistic that it would be a fine place to stay, but we were unable to find any reception staff; the place was like the Marie Celeste. We went away and returned later, but it was the same story. A notice gave the times when the reception desk would be staffed, a window that included both our visits. There was a sign by the phone saying "If there's no-one here ring this number", but when we did so there was only a recorded message.
What a pity; they lost our custom - and we lost the experience of staying at Hotel New York.

We stayed at this little hotel once but if we'd go to Nancy there's absolutely no doubt we'd stay here again.
The rooms are impeccably clean, the owner is very friendly, the ambience familial and the price very good. What else do you want?
