This hotel is very friendly and helpful especially when you have a problem they go out of their way to help.
Very good value for money as well.

We booked a car parking space as advised. The car park is some distance from the hotel round a one way system. All a bit inconvenient.

We booked a room at the back so it would be quieter. It was small but clean and well equipped. While we could not hear the noise from the main road, we could certainly hear the noise from adjoining rooms, and our attempt to sleep with the window open (due to the unseasonal heat) on the first night was foiled when the local blackbird started singing at 05:00 hours.

The breakfast was OK, but there was little choice and three days of it was enough.

A ten minute walk to the city centre makes it a convenient location if you are arriving by car, but it lacks quality in so many ways.

We chose la Residence having read reviews on Trip advisor and were not disappointed.The one drawback was the lack of restaurant in the immediate vicinity but it is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Nancy and only 5 minutes by tram which passes by the hotel. We had a room at the back of the hotel and found it very quiet. Although compact, the room was perfectly adequate, with a renovated shower room. The bedding was crisp and the bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast was more than adequate and the staff were extremely helpful. I would recommend booking a parking space ( in the next street) as parking around Nancy is a bit of a nightmare. Apart from a day trip to Metz, we left our car in the garage as we found the tram or walking very convenient. We would not hesitate to use la Residence again.

The staff at this hotel deserve a compliment for making you feel very welcome as a guest, linking professionalism to warm friendliness. We had a nice room with a great bathroom (wonderful to sit in a BIG tub after a long journey by car!). The beds were impeccably made, but a bit hard to our taste, which is why the 'sleep quality' scores a bit lower: but this is of course a matter of personal taste. Very tasty breakfast with fresh croissants in a very relaxed atmosphere. The gorgeous Place Stanislas is at approx. 1km walking distance from the hotel, and worthwhile to visit. If you travel by car: make sure you reserve a parking spot with the hotel or else you won't be able to park it nearby. We felt very refreshed for the remaining part of our trip! And we'll be back. :o)
