We had an overnight stay in Nancy, arriving and leaving by train. The Ibis was ideal. Not luxury, but that's not what you expect from this chain.

The room was an acceptable size, clean and tidy, quiet, with a good sized bathroom and free wifi. The week-end rates made it good value. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It was a few minutes walk from the main shopping precinct and the Place Stanislas. A longer stroll in the other direction for the equally impressive Art Nouveau museum (if you're into that sort of thing).

I didn't get to try the breakfast, because my train left at about 6.30am.

Would happily stay here again for a short stay

Not a fancy palace but this Ibis hotel is well refurbished and deserves his ***. to be nasty i could say that one lift is at times a bit short but who can't wait a couple of minutes ? while simple and nearly zen, the rooms are just what you need while travelling. the higher floors offer an interesting view on the Place de La République with the historical headquarter of the regional newspaper l'Est Republicain.
No steps to enter the hotel and lift should mean wheelchair access is ok.

The front desk staff were delightful and helpful. The location is good and the room was clean,. We were very kindly given the option of a room at the back that was quieter but without a bath or a slightly noiser room at the front. We chose the back.

When we arrived in the room it had a strong cleaning smell aroma. No problems. We left our backs, went out for a meal and when we came back the room smelt of smoke. Ok we thought it will go away. By 6am in the morning the smell was unbearable. It was worse on the window side of the bed, perhpas it was coming thourgh the vents. It was so bad that it had premeated into the clothes and material items we had lying outside the case. Disgusting.

We requested an extra pillow but there was not one available and the credit card machine was not working so we had to pay cash. .

I could not wait to get out of this place fast enough. Shame as the staff were great

Seen one IBIS you have seen them all, room fairly basic, clean and tidy, small bathroom, ideal for an overnight stay. The location by the railway station was very good, close to all the parts of the city that you would want to visit. If like me you have a very tall car (4x4 plus roof box) you cannot use the hotel underground car park, however, there is an open air car park about 400 yards away, although the receptionist we met didn't know it was there we had to tour around and stumble across it. Same receptionist though friendly didn't seem to know much about Nancy which isn't very good for a city break location. Evening receptionist different again very helpful on all matters.
