We found Hotel Foch quite late, after a long and wearisome search around Nancy. We were greeted warmly by the owner and given a very small but clean, warm and quiet room on the 3rd floor, reached by a lift. The shower was rather primitive (hand-held) and we had one small and two medium-sized towels between us, but we managed. The owner - whose English is excellent - was very helpful when it came to finding somewhere to eat.
Breakfast was skimpy, not self-service. We were given two pots of unappealing (and unwanted) fruit yoghurt, three small pieces of baguette and one croissant between us. My partner ate it, not noticing there was only one. Feeling guilty but hungry, I stole two extra pieces of baguette from a just-vacated table. There were no plates and the coffee was burnt. Not one of the better breakfasts of the trip.
