The hotel is a basic Mercure located in the heart of Limoges. We were very disappointed with Limoges as a destination. There were some good porcelain outlets convenient to the hotel, and after all that's what Limoges is most know for. The center city was frankly a little scary. On the major square in town there were many apparent bohemians drinking, smoking who knows what and accompanied by many very large aggressive barking dogs. We were told later on our trip that in France it is very difficult to arrest a person travelling with a dog, so these bohemians are apparently pretty free to be obnoxious. We had difficulty findind a decent place for dinner and settled for a place that we almost out of earshot of the barking dogs.

We stayed here on a very very hot day and it was such a blessing to have air conditioning in the room. Coffee and tea facilities in the room. The hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner, but works together with a brasserie next door for room service. Breakfast in the hotel is great with fresh and bio products. Don't go to Limoges on a Sunday, the town is dead, all is closed.

This is a tired out property with thirty year old decor and cigarette burns on the furniture and carpeting.

Our bathroom had been redone at some recent point but there was no shower in the tub and no curtain. Every hotel room should have a shower.
