We were again in Perpignan for a niece's wedding and because we were too sensitive to the cold to stay in our Banyuls' house shut since months,we stayed there 2 nights last weekend:I can say that the last reviews posted before the refurbishment are OUTDATED!We got an immaculate standard room with a comfy bed.Two bad things for some people:only French TV magazines and the location ,10 minutes drive from the town center but close to the A6 motorway,exit Perpignan sud and to a shopping precinct (Mac Donald's is one km away!)
We had a nice dinner at the hotel's restaurant,Jacques 1° (3 courses:26 euro),the chef being a Toque Blanche
On the way to our second home,we'll come back next Summer for a lunch! (There are not many good "canteens" in the area!!)

“A tired hotel”

This hotel is tired and in deperate need of a face lift. We stayed there on December 1, 2008. We paid 85 Euros for the one night stay. We also paid 12 Euros per person for the continental breakfast.
The hallways and coridoors of the hotel feel dark and ominous. The room was in need to a refreshment. It smelled like cleaning chemicals. The toilet only flushed if you held down the handle for a prolonged period of time.
The staff was fine.

“Hotel is being refurbished presently June 2008”
This was a last minute booking through Priceline UK it was not at an especially low rate however as we were off to see the Catalans play Warrington -it was the only acommodation we could secure last minute.
We were not advised at booking that the hotel was undergoing major refurbishment and was inevitably a building site.
The rooms were ok, the pool was not clean and in all honesty it was situated too far from the town centre. However it was connected by bus and was near a parade of good resturants so it served its purpose. Overall it was ok for the 2 night stay although I would stay closer to town next time.
- Liked — It was on a bus route to town and to the beach
- Disliked — The fact it was being refurbished
