This lovely old town house was converted into a hotel some 50 years ago. It is very conveniently situated and our room was spacious with a large bathroom and a balcony. All three staff we met were pleasant and courteous. Unfortunately, there was a lack of attention to detail: one window shutter was jammed shut because of damage, the minibar was inadequately stocked, there was no shower screen so the bathroom floor was soon awash, even on the first floor the wifi signal was poor and sometimes undetectable, the high step into the bathroom merited more than a few bits of red stickytape as a warning. If you are, or have been, a senior manager in business a stay here will do your blood pressure no good at all! Alternatively, you may be a holidaymaker who finds this a charming refuge from the professionally managed hotel chains.
