I have seen all the other reviews on here, particularly the recent ones that have not been that positive. My partner and I stayed here in October - we booked via Hotels.com and only paid £35 for the room, an exceptionally low price in my opinion.

We stayed on a Saturday night and found there to be no noise at all, the rooms may be small if for instance you are not used to London/NYC room sizes, but they were more than adequate and spacious for a long weekend. the room we stayed in had twin glass windows with very high ceilings and windows onto the street. The room and bathroom was clean and the staff were more than helpful and courteous.

Overall I would have given this hotel a 4 out of 5, but in consideration of the very low price paid I believe that its worth a 5!

It is a centrally located hotel and from the hotel you can walk around the city center in under an hour (with coffee breaks of-course). I personally did not find the area anything but pleasant and did not feel unsafe during any part of my stay in Nimes.

I would recommend this hotel for a short break away due to the price and central location, and I would for sure stay here again... A plus is the beautiful stone stairwells and inner courtyard of the hotel. Very picturesque!

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel for one night on Saturday 15 October 2011. We were disappointed.
Although the hotel is centrally located, it is not in a very pleasant area. There was constantly police walking up and down the street and on every street corner you would have young people gathering, making you feel unsafe. We had parked our car in an underground parking close to the hotel but where told by the receptionist to move the car to a car park which was supervised 24/24. That did not make us feel very safe.
Yes, as already indicated by other travelers, the reception area and the staircase of the hotel is very nice but to be honest, I don’t care much about this part of the hotel as I don’t linger in the staircase for longer than it takes me to walk from the room to the reception. Our room was run down, old and not very clean. The bathroom had seen better days and the wall paper was starting to tear and there was mold in the corners of the bathtub. The room smelled of mildew. This is not a standard I expect when I visit a hotel.
In addition, we could hear everything going on in all rooms on our floor as the isolation was very bad.
Honestly, I’m not sure how this hotel can be rated above average unless there is part of the hotel which has been renovated. We were in room 204.
We had breakfast in the morning. It was fine with a small selection. I’m not sure it’s worth the €20 we paid for 2 persons.
If I had to go back to Nimes, I would not stay in this hotel again.

The rooms were small, but the noise was excessive. We stayed two nights and there was too much noise both nights---fights arguments ect. Would not suggest staying there even though it had double windows.

We arranged this hotel last minute and were pleasantly suprised by its charm. The staff were amazing when we had a problem come up! They are renovating starting Nov.2011. The rooms were a little outdated but the inner courtyard and common rooms were really lovely. It was a great value too!
