Basic but nice hotel right on the wonderful tram system which goes to the centre of town and the railway station (both about 5 minutes away, 1.30 euros per trip). New and clean with a well equiped little "kitchen" in the room. Little noise from the street and generally quiet. The only noise came from other guests (Portuguese and American students) who decided to talk to each other by shouting to each other out of the windows rather than walking down the corridor and talking face to face: no doubt the management will teach them some manners!

We were very impressed by this hotel. We got a very cheap deal on expedia[-] and weren't expecting anything above average. However the room was a good size and very clean as was the bathroom, although the shower was a little on the small side. The kitchenette was ideal well stock with ovenware. However there is no kettle. There is also lots of storage space!

The only criticism was that there was no air conditioning. We went in early september and the room was so stuffy even with the windows open, I dread think how hot it is in the middle of the summer!

We were a little worried as we were due to arrive after reception closes, however we telephoned the hotel and they are were very helpful. All of the staff were friendly and spoke good english.

The hotel is well situated, about a 20-30min walk from the city centre (Place de la Comédie) or 10mins on the tram. There is a tram stop almost directly outside the hotel.

This is the ideal place to stay if you are looking for a budget self catering hotel in Montpellier.
