Let's not get carried away, this is not a luxury apartment, but at €80 for the family of 4 it was exceptional value.

Lets start with the bad bit; we were allocated a room which had no airconditioning (none of the rooms do) , being South of France in August we had to have the windows fully open and we didnt get much sleep as it was over a main road.

The next day they moved us, upon request, to the back of the building which was MUCH better.

It is very simple but clean accomodation (a bit like a modern student hall of residence) however its a nice walk to town (10 - 15 mins) and has secure underground parking. There is a patisserie a couple of minutes away where you can grab a take-away breakfast, plus a pizza take away if you want a cheap supper. We chose to eat out in the city everynight where you are spoiled for choice.

The rooms were good, however we happened to be at the very hot season and were surprised to see that there are no AC's at all in the room and instead we had "Room Heaters" and even the room missed a FAN!!. When we checked with the reception they said that the hot season is for a very short duration and hence they did not "invest" on getting any cooling equipment. In terms of location, transportation availability, the place was good and we could easily get vegetables, etc which are quite important for a vegetaran to survive. Another aspect was that they were giving opitons like changing he linens the room once in a week for a reduced rental price.

Very basic hotel with furniture that doesn´t looked like its been touched since the 70´s and one plastic chair. There was only one coathanger in the wardrobe and jut one small soap in the bathroom, no shower gel, shampoo, etc. However the room was clean although did look a little grubby due to age. Although the road outside isn´t too busy, all traffic can be clearly heard from the room which isn´t helped by th need to have the windows open (even in december) due to the heat inside the hotel. Breakfast is also extremely basic and expensive for what is on offer. I would definitely suggest giving it a miss and buying a pastry from one of the shops in the centre (there are no shops/restaurants near the hotel but the tram stop is just outside).

All in all, the hotel isn´t terrible and I suppose you get what you pay for but I definitely wouldn´t return.

Rooms are plain but large with a double hob, coffee percolater and mircowave. Shame there was no kettle. Bathroom a good size, clean and very acceptable. Free soap and mini shower gel. Beds a bit hard but ok. Room very warm and cleaned every day. Very close to tram stop. They charge you 25Euro if you leave any washing up in the sink on your last day or if you don't take your own rubbish out to the bins outside which I thought was bad but apart from that it's a good place to stay if you visit Montpellier.
