“Quieter Than City Center”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

This is a nice, modern hotel (good ac & refrigerator), however it is important to know how to get there - it is very easy not to see the front entrance. The Hotel is a moderate walk to the city center via a beautiful promenade then through the major mall "Polygone" on towards the city square.

If you arrive by train please note that there may not be any taxis because Montpellier is a small city served by a modern tram system. Ask the hotel for directions but I think you take the Blue tram marked "Odysseum" (note there is more than 1 blue tram line).

Montpellier is a beautiful place for a day trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard view if you don't want street noise.

“Mercure Antigone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

Hotel in good location with handy underground garage (10eu per night). Evening meal menue does not change. Bathroom had separate toilet which made both small. Otherwise hotel very good with helpful staff.

“Excellent Value in Montpellier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2011

This is a charming hotel, with clean, well appointed, rooms located within walking distance on the city's major attractions. It is also located in close proximity to tram stops which made getting to the beach and the zoo (for my family members) quite convenient. The staff were very friendly and quite helpful.

“Mercure Montpellier Antigone”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2011

The hotel is fine, well located but needs renovation and the number of employees in not enough for the amount of work they need to handle. At the brekfast the waiter was working alone and was almost crazy to do his work. The employees were all fine and attentive but one person cannot do the work of 3. This is a symbol of bad management. High return with low costs. Greed is the way to disaster. Good luck.

“Oasis in a troubled France”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

I had a flying visit at the Mercure in Montpellier because I was trying to get across France during the recent strikes and the buses and trains were very unreliable. It was a relief to arrive at the hotel, I had a bit of trouble finding it and there were no taxis (because of the strike). The staff were very professional and friendly. The room was large and they had room service which was all I wanted. The bed was the most comfortable I'd slept in for a long time and the room was also quiet.
