“Not worth the diversion!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

We arrived late at night with a long standing pre-booking. Trying to get to the hotel was a nightmare with typically badly signed diversions around what looked like a major road design, adding to the frustration of being able to see the brightly illuminated sign as we circled around it at least twice. Our room smelt fusty when we arrived and the carpet didn't look that clean. I assume we got one of the rooms normally reserved for physically handicapped guests as it was conveniently near the reception and restaurant on the ground floor and the bathroom was appropriately kitted out with an unenclosed shower and proper seat. Unfortunately this meant that water soaked the whole bathroom floor which might explain the smell if the room carpet got wet. Breakfast was good quality. OK for one night stay to break journey as close to motorway.

“Good hotel only with a car”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

The hotel located near express way exit and very convienient with a car. However, it is very difficult to access without a car. I only recommend this hotel who has a car. Without a car, you must use a taxi.

“Ok, but would stay elsewhere if given the change again.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

We booked a superior room at this hotel- I did have to check that we had been given the correct room as superior did not spring to mind. Paper cups to make a coffee in small window. The air con was in good working order and we were not disturbed by other guests, the room was clean and the staff friendly. The hotel is situated a short bus journey into Montpellier-in an area where there is a lot of construction going on. Not a pretty place. The breakfast was fine and we all found something that we liked to eat. The pool was a good addition and free parking. In all not a bad place but given the chance again I would stay elsewhere.

“Typical French Novotel setup”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We stayed here for one night as a stop-over to breakup a long drive on one of the busiest days on the roads during the summer and the hotel was full.

The hotel is ideally situated just off the motorway. The secure car park was very busy when we arrived at 19:30 but managed to get a space at the far end (when we left early the next morning there were cars using all available space in the car park).

Despite a short queue, check-in was quick and efficient.

Our standard room was the normal Novotel setup I have seen in France with a double bed and sofa in the main room. There is a little entrance hall with toilet separated from the room with a door so noise from the corridor is minimised. The bathroom had a large sink and a small bath with shower over the bath. There was plenty of space for our baby's travel cot and all our luggage. The bed was fine, the pillows are square and quite thin so you might want to consider bringing your own.

We didn't use the hotel for dinner or breakfast. For dinner we had a great meal at the Courtepaille grill which is a 2 minute walk away next to the Ibis Hotel. For breakfast we brought our own supplies and used the kettle in the room to make tea.

Check-out was very quick because nobody else was checking out at 06:30!

The hotel is fine for a stopover, we got it at a very good rate, and will stay there again.
