I don't usually bother doing reviews but felt this time I should! Just felt I should warn others about it.
We booked into for one night last week - simply because it seemed to have the last available room in the resort and it was late and dark. We wanted to stay in Collioure before going home to London the next day.
It was not expensive. But even so it was not worth the money! Very depressing, very grungy and shabby. I would not recommend it - even to my student son and his pals!
Can't even say it was like Fawlty Towers as Fawly Towers was fun!
The " double " bedroom was tiny. No room to unpack properly. No mirror to check your appearance. No bedside tables as room to small!
Falling peeling tiles on the ceiling. Remote for air-con or tv - not sure which as we didn't use either - was taped up with gaffer tape!
Bedclothes and towels were clean. But bedroom radiator covered in dirt and dust. Not sure whether lino on bedroom floor was dirty or just so shabby that it looked grubby. It certainly looked awful.
The shower was broken. Had to hold it in your hand - so quite hard to wash hair!
Hotel clearly knew about this and didn't bother to fix it. The hole to hand the attachement etc had just been filled in in a v unprofessinal looking way. A real botch job.
If you are forced like us to ever stay here don't have breakfast. We were so pleased we had ours elsewhere as " petit dejeuner" seemed to be just a few tables laid out by the front door where you could help yourself to cornflakes. We smelled no gorgeous French bread or croissants!
We had a fab breakfast in the village for the same price.
To be fair we didn't complain. My French is very poor . We were tired and we had no-where else to go that night.
In fact there wasn't really anyone to complain too as reception was shut at night and no one came when we rang the bell!
Collioure is such a lovely place. I think its' visitors all deserve something better
