This hotel is in a quiet location on the opposite side of town from the airport. This is a Kyriad group hotel which are dotted all over france. If you were driving in the Narbonne area this would be ideal because you are clear of the town. It is approx 20 mins walk from "La Cite" and 40 mins walk from the main town of Carcassone. After 7pm a taxi will cost you 10 euros from each of the above locations. It is situated just opposite "La Cite 2" which is a very large shopping complex and very handy for getting your stocks of wine and cheeses for coming home. There is also a huge steak house "Buffalo Grill" 100 metres to the right from the hotel. You can also catch a # 10 buss from "La Cite 2" to town on a regular basis. (No busses in Carcassoine on Sundays).
The hotel offered a special weekend rate, continental breakfast every morning at an extra cost of 6.50 euros per person and the restaurant is not open for meals at the weekend. The rooms are quite small - we had a double bed and a single in our room which made the room seem very small. The room has a telephone, TV with Canal+ movies but all in French. There is air conditioning and tea/coffee facilites in the rooms. The bathroom had a bath with good shower and plenty of towels and soap, shampoo etc and a hairdryer. This hotel has approx 25 rooms and I have to say the staff were very helpful and spoke good english. The hotel was very quiet, no cars could be heard, like living in the country.
If I go back to Carcassonne and am hiring a car I would have no problem going back to this hotel at 57 euros per night, if I go back to Carcassonne again and dont hire a car I will stay in the centre of Carcassonne. If I go back to Carcassonne again I will not be without a car because a half a day in "La Cite" was enough for me - it is just one big maze of restaurants and tourist shops and the area has a lot more to offer than this old fortress.
Im sorry I did not take any photos.
