Our room was the most awful room,had booked double room and was given long,dull room with 3 beds,a cupboard door was hanging off the hinge,the hairdryer was in dangerous condition. Was charged 90 euros but after complaint next morning agreed to lower to 80 - big deal! Was told we had been given wrong room which didn't help matters. TIP - don't stay there and always complain immediately when something not right as you may also be given the wrong room!

Staff were ok. the decor dreadful as was the bedroom.The bathroom was smelly and the toilet small and cramped.The evening meal was mediocre(if we had not been on a guided tour and prepaid we would have eaten out)Carcassone was great so was the surrounding country side.

This was a last minute break and if given more time we would have picked a different hotel. Located close to the Gare and the main road next to the Canal du Midi, the road noise on the front of the the building was constant and the bar next door to the hotel boomed music till 2am whilst we were there and with lack of sleep because of this asked to change rooms to the rear of the building.The staff were friendly and helpful but we felt that the breakfast was overpriced at 9.50 Euros each per day, the rooms were basic and needed refreshing and upgrading. Carcassonne apart from the Cite was just an ordinary place.

The only complaint from our point of view is the decor, its very dated and could do with being modernized. Other than this, we can't fault the hotel. The staff were brilliant, the hotel was clean and comfortable, the room was large, the location was perfect, close to the train station, the canal (with boat trips), and the centre with so many cafe's and restaurants. Even the price wasn't over the top.
We'd definitely go back.
