“Good Stay in Paris!”

A great find in Paris to wrap up our two week European vacation! Located within walking distance of Gare St. Lazare, however the main attractions in Paris are a further walk. There are several bistros and brasseries around the hotel. The staff was very friendly, they upgraded our room and gave us a better view once they found out we were in Paris celebrating our first wedding anniversary. However the staff was not as helpful, we asked for a restaurant suggestion and the man at the front desk gave us walking directions and even wrote them down, however upon arriving what was to be the restaurant there was no restaurant. We walked around the surrounding area and still no sign of the restaurant he had suggested so we settled for another bistro.
This hotel is a pretty good value, Paris is such an amazing city so the walks to the main attractions were a lot of fun and we never felt unsafe in any of the surrounding neighborhoods. From what we had read before leaving this hotel had larger rooms than you typically find in Paris but from American standards it was quit small.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on one of the higher floors, you can open the windows for a great Parisian str...

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for you comment and taking the time to evaluate everything.

Thank you for what you say about the staff, we work hard to have happy people working with us. And actually they love what they are doing. And you have to know that they have a lot to do but they are always available to help people.

For the restaurant, thanks to you we are more precise now to make sure our guest understood the address. The best is always to book a table and to make sure it's open. And actually we love having people telling us they had a good meal thanks to us.

We know that for international standard Parisian room are not to big but I thing they are big enough to feel comfortable.

I agree with you, the neighborhood is very safe and we never had problems.

Thank you again.
All the best,
Sébastien

“Charming Hotel, central location”

Very good week-end in this hotel, the rooms are small but comfortable, designed and clean. Nice service by a kind and very helpful team, smiling and efficient, unusual in Paris, it is worthwhile to mention it. Ideally located near to Gare St Lazare next to Haussman Boulevards and underground stations, very easy to reach. Few numbers of room that make you feel almost at home; breakfasts are of good quality the service is excellent. Free wifi is much appreciated! Quiet quarter nice surroundings to walk around.

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for taking the time to right such a very nice comment.

It's very important for us to tell our team that they are doing a great job. We work in this industry to make you feel comfortable and as you said "Fell almost at home". People who travel a lot want to feel comfortable.

We decided to make a 3 stars plus but provide all what people need when you travel nowadays. A good wifi, a comfortable and a good breakfast.

I chose the location because it's both very calm and safe and also very cloth by everything. Opera is 7 mn away. Louvre 15 mn.

All the best, and I wish we could welcome you again.

“Horrible Location and Overpriced”

We wouldn't stay here again. Very unpleasant area (right next to Saint Lazare train station), even quite scary at night, and poorly located for reaching the nicer parts of Paris. Rooms are decently furnished but small and overpriced compared to other Parisian hotels we have stayed in. We are not difficult to please travellers but the very positive reviews of this hotel have completely baffled us, even raised our suspicions. Our advice is stay well away - there are too many nice hotels and areas of Paris to even consider this one.

Dear Sir, Dea Madam,

I am so sorry that you didn't feel confortable in our area. As you probably saw, we are in the 8th and 5 to 10 minutes away from every sightseeing. 5 mn from les Galeries Lafayette. You felt unconfortable and I am very sorry for that. Just to let you know, it's been 2 years that we opened and we never had any problem of violence or anything.
As you can read on the reviews (trip advisor is verifying the validity everyday) people are very happy.
I hope you will try again the hotel that you can really feel the right atmosphere.
We do our business to make people happy with all our heart. All the team is working hard to make people feel confortable.
By the way thank you for your comment that we show to our team and they are now more and more motivated to make people happy.

I wish you all the best,

Sébastien

“AMAZING gem in Paris! Will ABSOLUTELY return!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Hotel Wilson Opera is an amazing find in Paris, and I am so lucky to have used Trip Advisor to find this little gem. I traveled to Paris with my boyfriend (we are both in our mid-twenties) for the Christmas Break, and the hotel could not have been more perfect for a couple traveling together or for someone traveling alone. I have visited numerous cities in Europe, and did not want an old, out dated hotel for my one vacation of the year, and especially feared this in Paris, a city known for small, shabby hotel rooms at sky rocket prices. Wilson Opera is modern, stylish, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and very convenient to the entire city of Paris. Just a short (about 2 blocks if even) walk to the St. Lazare Metro Station, you can easily navigate to any area of Paris within 15-20 minutes. This being said, the hotel is also on a quiet street with no disturbance from the ground below.

I was worried about being in Paris during Christmas Eve, when many restaurants are closed, and had emailed the hotel a month in advance to help with a reservation. Yadira was beyond helpful and made an amazing recommendation for a quaint, non-touristy, affordable little restaurant on the Ile-St.Louis, Mon Viel Ami. Do try it!

I would advise booking directly through the hotel's website, as we got a 3+ night stay discount and the rates were better there than on any other discount travel site (and I checked everywhere). In the special request box, I requested a balcony and was delighted to open the room door to see our wrap around balcony with a view of the Eiffel tower!

We will definitely be returning to Hotel Wilson Opera next time we go to Paris!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony!

“Lovely & Convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in October. It is very convenient because it is a minute walk to a major metro station (St. Lazare) and it has a city bike rental right station outside the front door. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed in room 602 and LOVED it. The room an amazing view of the Eiffel tower from the private balcony and a huge bathroom. We can't wait to go back to Paris and would definitely stay here again!
