“Great location, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Really enjoyed the 7 nights I spent in this hotel. The internet is difficult to get above the 2nd floor, but there is no problem getting a signal in the lobby, (I stayed on the 5th floor one week and on the 2nd floor another week) As a solo traveller, I booked a single room, which was quite small, but the shower was great, no problem with pressure and there was always hot water. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, so overall I was quite comfortable here.

The location of this hotel is fabulous for visiting Paris, it is literally beside Port Royal RER line B station, which has a direct line to CDG, (9.25 Euro), and bus 91 stops on Blvd Port Royal across the street which is direct to Gare Paris Austerlitz, Gare de Lyon, (direction Bastille), and Gare Montparnasse, (direction Gare Montparnasse).

There are many restaurants, cafes and bars in the area from which to choose, my favourite was Figue & Olive, just around the corner from the hotel at 44 rue Pierre Nicole. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, and speak English if you want them to. I look forward to my next trip to Paris and my next stay at Hotel Beauvoir.

“good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We stayed in a double room; it was a very small and smelly (wet carpet?) but we left the windows open during the day so smell was more bearable. Staff was very nice and helpful.
The location of the hotel is very good. The area is safe and clean.

“Good!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

The location is perfect: at the crossing of two boulevards, seconds away from RER-B (direct line to Charles de Gaulle airport), also there’s a bus stop just across the road to go to Gare Montparnasse. About 10 minutes walk to Sorbonne, Jardins de Luxembourg and maybe about 15-20 minutes total to Seine and Notre-Dame.

The hotel itself is nice, clean, people at the reception are very friendly and the price is reasonable for central location. Can’t say anything about breakfast, I didn’t eat at the hotel since there are so many charming cafes and brasseries in Paris. I had a single room, small (between me, my suitcase, the bed and the chair and bathroom door sometimes it was difficult to move around, but it wasn’t THAT big of a deal), very clean, bed comfortable enough, very strong shower, always a hot water and a daily change of towels. The hairdryer is available at the reception and you get to keep it for your stay, don’t know if that’s the common rule or I was simply the only one who asked for it. There’s no fridge in the room, but there’s a safe to keep all you valuables, and that is a +.

Not so good:
That clingy curtain in the shower that so many reviewers talk about is indeed very clingy, if you put it out you flood the bathroom with the first drop of water, you put it in and it clings to you.

No a/c! I was lucky, because the weather in Paris this June was only around 20C and I was able to open windows since my room was on the back. However, when the last days the temp has gone up to 37C the open windows didn’t help. So I’d suggest to avoid it in hot months.

Since I was on the back there was no noise from the street, but I got plenty of noise from the banging elevator door, my room was right next to it and the bed was right along that wall! To my luck there were no hard party-goers on my floor, so it was quiet from midnight till about 7, except for couple of nights when people were checking in/out late (or early).

Do I regret choosing to stay there? Definitely not!
Would I recommend it? Yes, because it’s clean, central and reasonably priced.
Would I stay there again? Probably not, because there are few other hotels much closer to center and still on the airport RER B line and in the same price range that I want to check out.

“Credit Card was skimmed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

I stayed here in May 2011. A week after I arrived home I received a call from my bank to advise me that my credit card had been skimmed. The last time I had used it was to pay for the hotel. I hadn't used it in months. I can only presume that it was skimmed at this hotel as I had a query with the bill when I was leaving and the receptionist took my credit card from me. I immediately wrote to the hotel to advise them of this and have not yet received a reply. I would note recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Modest room for modest price (by Parisian standards)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2011 via mobile

Clean but very small rooms, modernized bathroom (with clingy Euro shower curtain), bed comfortable enough, no a/c, and keeping the windows open at night means listening to very loud street traffic. Rooms facing the street should be avoided in the hot summer for this reason. Breakfast is an extra 10 Euros and is likely not worth it. Very close to the RER-B, which is a direct line to Paris CDG. Good neighbourhood, near the Sorbonne and the Jadin de Luxembourg, not overrun with tourists.
