My wife and I spent four days at the Arian Hotel in May 2010. The rooms are simple, but very acceptable for the price. The staff too was smiling and helpful. With room prices between 45 and 67 euros we can't complan. The beds were good and the bathroom OK. Of course the elevator is small, but that's how it is in Paris. Furthermore, it is situated in Paris' Chinatown, a little outside the tourist track, but I think that was an advantage. Several metro stops are very close, so you can get everywhere in some minutes.
One more thing: If you come from the Orly airport, take the bus nr 183, which takes you to Porte de Choisy, some ten minutes' walk from the hotel. When it comes to eating, the aera has hundreds of Chinese, Vietmamese, Cambodgian and Laotian restaurants where you can eat well and cheap, and it lies ten mitutes' walk from the Butte aux Cailles, a very "French" neighbourhood where time has stood still, and with good and inexpensive restaurants with French country food. Beware of the tourist restaurants downtown, where you can get a lunch menu for 10-12 euros. The food is mediocre and the price you pay for drinks is sky rocket high (you don't know that before you get your bill. Try instead the Chinatown area, which is not well known by tourists. You won't regret that!
