The rooms were small and cozy and had different themes - reds, greens, blues..This is a boutique hotel and everything felt well taken care of and attended too.
We had a nice big plush bed and see-thru glass bathroom, tasteful nude art lined the walls and the ambiance of the hotel and guests was very sensual and sophisticated.
I loved the area as there were lots of small boutiques and patiserre's that were left and right. There was a sweets shop on the corner with the best macaroons I have ever had. Please visit Banera, nice old lady served be cafe & delicious beignets every day..
The area reminded me of soho/tribeca..lots of shops, restaurants etc. It's a walk away from the risque Pigalle and Montmarte which was great as we got to visit the scenic and iconic spot twice on our trip, it was better than the eiffel tower (which is overcrowded and over-rated in my opinion).
This hotel is great for you as a first timer in Paris, on a romantic getaway...I would pick of some nice fromage and wine from the plentiful shops in the area (yes, even Carrefour) and have a picnic on the montmarte hilltop in the summer..
