“Lovely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My girlfriend and I stayed here in Summer 2011 and it's a lovely hotel, perhaps a little pricey but it is Paris after all, and the rooms are lovely, very clean and the staff are very friendly. It was a little difficult to find on foot but I'm sure my map skills probably aren't the best. Loads of nice restaurants close to the hotel and there's a cracking little bar opposite the entrance selling cheap drinks (3 euro a beer/wine/cider, extremely cheap in Paris). Only slight negative is the size of the room, although I suppose that is similar in a lot of continental hotels.

“good things come in small packages”

The rooms are tiny (acess to the bed on one side only in my room) but the fun decor makes up for it and you have everything you could possibly need in a small space. The staff were extremely friendly and helped with printing, ordering taxis etc. The breakfast was pretty good although i would have liked a real coffee (expresso machine with capsules available), but the tea selection was good. The room was quiet despite a main street nearby Would definately recommend if you're looking for something different but at a reasonable price.

“Nice and quaint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I traveled solo and it wasn't bad at all. Hotel room was small but enough for one person. When I arrived they already knew my name which was nice. The breakfast was pricey but worth it when you're on the go. The croissants were to die for. The hotel is located on a small quiet street. Not to far from from site. I'd probably move in a little closer next time I travel to Paris but the price of The Five was unbeatable and the service was impeccable.

“Great room, not close to the sights”

This hotel's rooms are superb. They are well decorated, with perfect lighting for all activities. Even the small rooms have enough space to be comfortable, and to get some light work (postcard writing) done. The staff are very helpful.

On the other hand, the hotel is at least a ten minute walk from the closest Metro or RER stations. And then you still have to get to where you want to go. The hotel does not seem particularly close to any major tourist sites.

My advice would be to stay here to take advantage of the price and comfort/quality, but make sure you budget for a Metro pass.

“Everyone should stay here!”

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel as our first trip away together and it was, without a doubt the best possible hotel that we could have chosen! The location was great, surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants and it was only a short metro ride away from the main attractions so it was very easy to get everywhere. The staff were all very kind and made lots of helpful suggestions about good restaurants near-by. We booked this hotel on lastminute.com and we booked a 'romantic room' so we were unsure of which room type we would have after looking on the official Five Hotel website and assumed it would just be a standard one but when we arrived and checked in it was better than we could have imagined. The room was a perfect size for us and the bed was extremely comfortable surrounded by hanging drapes and there were even had fairy lights built into the walls around the bed and in the shower! We were like little kids again getting very over excited! We had a perfect trip and i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic trip away in Paris.
