The hotel is located in an old building, there are 6 floors, no lift! It's been refurbished, so there is noise during the day and dust and paint everwhere, but nothing too bad.

We paid 75 EUR for a renewed room with a big terrace overlooking the rooftops. Wooden floor, fireplace, big French window.
It was very clean, though I did get bitten by the usual bed bugs....
The owner said it was not usual and gave us a discount and said they usually call the pest control company everytime this happens. I know there can be bed bugs even in the poshiest hotels, so I was not too annoyed, and I've seen a lot worse than that, unfortunately.

The hotel is 2 minutes away from rue de Lappe, with loads of bars, restaurants and funky boutiques. The street below is noisy, better to have earplugs.
Free wi-fi, which worked fine.

I think it's a very charming budget hotel, with very helpful staff.

This Hotel is a delight to stay in ! the staff are very friendly ,they speak English,the location is near all the interesting parts of Paris,the rooms are spacious,clean and our room had a shower and loo. lovely french windows opening onto a balcony with views of the city.
We would definitely stay there again.

Made a booking well in advance. The manager gave us the option of looking at the room first to confirm we would stay. Throughout the stay she was ever so helpful. Some of the rooms were in the process of refurbishment and we could here the odd bang and clang throughout the day.

The room could have been a little tidier, however this was compensated with the balcony which gave us a great view looking toward Montmartre and down towards the Gare de Lyon. The room was sufficient for weary rested legs after a day of walking around sightseeing.

Good location to Metro, good wine bar/cafe next door and a good cafe across the road. Many other good wine bars, cafe, patisseries, etc in the area.

Given the good service, reasonable price, and location I would stay there again

We always stay in Hotel Baudin if we can get in, because it has all the essentials we like - charming helpful people, light, spacious rooms, great central location, informal atmosphere and amazing view over Paris streetlife from rooms on the upper floors. It's a family-run hotel with a truly welcoming atmosphere and is very reasonably-priced. Climbing the stairs isn't for the faint-hearted but the balcony views, privacy and convenience are well worth the effort. For a taste of the fantastic balcony view from our last stay go to:

The hotel owners are refurbishing and modernising in a sensitive and leisurely way, without destroying the charm of the old building. Our favourite room now has a delightful ensuite as well as a balcony. This is a relaxed hotel for people who enjoy the buzz of central Paris - and the roar of Parisian traffic is also very useful for masking any snoring!
