I researched a lot and this hotel came out near the top. Very close to Gare du Nord, friendly staff, room small and bathroom tiny (Paris!!) but all clean including bed linen. Wifi worked well, staff changed a bulb when I asked, printed out a train ticket I needed; I had breakfast one day and not the next, all no problem. I had a room facing interior courtyard, it was super quiet and nice and high on 5th floor. I'd recommend being high up (lift works fine) because it's lighter in the courtyard the higher you are, and I imagine a little quieter on the street side.

The location of the hotel is good and in front of a bus station " Gare Du Nord " so we could use bus easily to visit all the city, we checked in the hotel and the receptionist is pretty nice and helpful, But there is no Left or bellman to help us with the bags, we went to the room and it looked fine but the bathroom is VERY tight. the hotel room was clean and in the midnight the alarm rang and the people was leaving their rooms and we did the same but we discovered that it is only a Cigratte smoke that turned the Alarm on, was not good at the midnight, but we enjoyed our stay there.

This hotel offers very basic accommodation at a good price. We paid 60 euros per night for a double room with bathroom and shower inside, which is very fare I think for Paris. We stayed at late August--early September 2011. We were lucky enough to have a tiny balcony overlooking blvd de Magenta. The room has just the basic furinture and you should not expect any special decor. It is conveniently located very close to Gare du Nord (one of the big train and metro stations). It is also within walking distance from Montmarte which we liked a lot. Does not offer a big breakfast buffet, but has a machine at the lobby that makes excellent coffee, so we were skipping breakfast, we were just drinking coffee and were buying croissants from a bakery on our way for sightseeing. I found the staff very helpful and friendly.

We checked this hotel after reading plenty reviews and I think that I was good choice.
Hotel is one star and all is corresponding with this fact. We had double room with shower,wc. Some rooms has public wc in the corridor. Room wasn´t spacious but standardly clean. Shower as well as toilet isn´t for big people, some could have difficulties with closing the door.It´s good hotel for overnight but not luxury. Windows is to the Magenta street and it´s definitelly rush street and noise is during whole night, but no extremly (in my own opinion).Stuff is friendly. Wifi connection goes OK. Breakfast is too expensive for one croisaint,one butter,some jam, orange juice,cofee, tea and one roll.
Nearby is Gare du Nord with excelent connection to whole Paris (RER,metro, trains,bus). Some local shops are next to the hotel. Magenta in the night isn´t peaceful place but from the Gare du Nord is safe way. Recommend for young couples :-)
