Beautiful building in classic location between Tuileries and Place Vendome. Grand public spaces on the ground floor (albeit pretty lifeless during our stay) ... different story on 4th floor where we stayed - which was a labarinth (in the old attic level?) with low ceilings and little appeal.

Room unoffensive and unremarkable - smallish and dark with just a small stand-in bath tub as a shower. Good comfortable bed though - but you always get that in a Westin.

Biggest issue was temperature ... we visited on a bitterly cold weekend, and heating in the room either couldn't cope or was not working properly - with the thermostat on max, the corridor outside was considerably warmer than the room! Had to use additional duvet in wardrobe - a first for me in any hotel.

Although I could easily stay again, prefer a hotel with more character, style, buzz and atmosphere ...

After reading the reviews I was expecting great things! Don't get me wrong... the exterior of the hotel is amazing... as are the public spaces. And the location is THE BEST with the Louvre just a stones throw away... and the Musee d'Orsay just across the river... and the Musee de l'Orangerie within easy walking distance. The room itself was large enough and it had a lovely view down into the courtyard below... and was very quiet. But the downside for me was that it wasn't very French. The hotel elevators played American pop music and the whole ambience was more international corporate hotel than a quintessentially French experience. The bathroom had one small rail... no clothes hooks to speak of... and simply no-where to put down your stuff. The room itself had no mirrors [apart from the one in semi darkness at the front door] and the lighting throughout the room was grossly inadequate. We received very poor service in the downstairs bar/cafe... where we were given a footstool to perch on while a whole family of small children took up the adult seating. This would have been fine if it had been handled diplomatically and the problem solved in a timely and respectful manner... but it wasn't... so we left without ordering. I would however happily report that the French Onion Soup on the room service menu was second to none... albsolutely D-elicious.

Location perfect ! Hotel pretty! The bar is great! The rooms are ugly ugly ugly ! A dark grey room is not amicable, relaxing, inviting, ppl paint those room in white plssssssss! Plus the paint is peeling of the trimming the carpet is going bad .... The rooms need tender loving care .... PRONTO .we stayed at room 2018 supposedly deluxe the only good thing was the bed and linens . Westin is supposed be fantastic so pls do that be fantastic. The price of the rooms r not cheap u know ! If u r gonna pay something it better be worth it

We were at the Westin January 3-6th. After we checked in and saw our room we requested a room change because the corner room we originally had felt very small and claustrophobic. The desk clerk immediately satisfied our request. The clerk was very gracious about the change.. After dinner that evening we decided to see if we could get an upgrade and the night desk clerk was fabulous. She gave us an eiffel tower view room and was so helpful. We had a fabulous experience and are planning on staying there again in May. We have already booked our six night stay and got a very good rate. We did have to prepay but the location is so fabulous we feel it is worth it. The beds are to die for and really comfortable. We have only good things to say about our stay there.Bobette from Austin texas
