This hotel is in a fabulous location, close to three metro stops (St Placide, Notre Dame des Champs, and Vavin), is just a short walk from
Montparnass and all of its great restaurants, Jardin Luxembourg and the shopping district of St Germain des Pres.

In addition to the location, the price is right, the staff was super friendly, accomodating and helpful and the rooms, while not luxurious, were clean and comfortable. It was also quite quiet from hotel and street noise so we were able to have a good night's sleep.

I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great deal on the Left Bank.

This hotel is reasonable and conveniently located off Avenue Du Montparnasse near both the Vavin and Notre Dame des Champs metro stops. It is cozy and has a kind of shabby appeal -- the staff is great and they really looked out for us and helped us in every possible way. This would be a great place for young people on a budget or older travellers who prefer something with a personal feel instead of a sterile chain. It has its own little adjoining cafe for breakfast coffee or evening beverages. It might not suit someone who is uptight about people or looking for slick, glossy accommodations, but we totally enjoyed it, and were welcomed in every way.

My husband and I booked this hotel through ParisInfo website for a stay from 19 to 23 September 2005. We received immediate confirmation from the hotel, but when we got to Paris and had spent an hour or so looking for the hotel, they knew nothing of our booking.

Aside from that the person at reception initally said the room wasnt ready, after making us wait for over an hour and our consistent enquiries, he finally said he knew nothing of our booking although we has shown him ou confirmation and booking number. We were tired, hot and frustrated since after 2 hours we had no accomodation for the 4 nights in Paris. Also, the man at reception was rude and not helpful. We finally arranged accomodation in another hotel that was a 1* and we had to walk 6 floors up since there was no lift.

Our overall experience in France was the people are rude. This was something that had no logic since they want tourists but are not willing to treat tourists with any hospitability and refuse to speak even a little English.

France is somewhere i would never go again unless i was forced to on business. Paris which claims to be the city of lovers is disappointing in its people and their rudeness and discrimination to people of Asian origin. Whilst the sights of Paris may be spendid, its the people of the city that create the impression and culture. This was severely lacking in most people as was the case in Hotel Stanislas (2*).

I definitely would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
