“"Totally Poor Services...."”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

Its really poor services, not friendly, selfish and ugly boss.... although the location is good and convenient but the hotel is small and nothing, even basic stuff... like a cup for drinking water. The breakfast cost 1 person Euro 7.50 (more expensive than outside food, there are a lot food selling just out door) and the breakfast is cheap and not much choice.

The worst thing is the room is not cleaning up.... and we have to ask for the bed sheet and change it our-self. before that we have traveled 5 countries to stayed in different hotels and no any hotel like this worst and totally not friendly, we were not happy and have poor experience for this hotel at our last stop... spoiling our journey... i would NEVER EVER stay in this hotel again, FULLY NOT RECOMMENDED !!!!

“A little gem in the heart of Paris ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

The Hotel de la Perdrix Rouge is a good bargain for the tourist on a tight budget. Located on the border of the 19th and 20th arr., it is easily reached by metro. The nearest metro station is Jourdain, and if you take exit 2 (rue Lassus) from the metro station, it is literally 20 m up the street. It is easily reached from CDG (take the RER to Gare du Nord, then line 5 to Republique and line 11 to Jourdain). The rooms are simple and clean. The staff is quite friendly. The breakfast is nice and inexpensive (7.5 euro). A clerk is at the front desk 24 hr/day. The beautiful Parc du Buttes Chaumont is ten minutes away by foot. St Jean-Baptiste de Belleville church is across the street.

“Perfect location! clean, friendly and we had a view!”

The Perdrix Rouge is clean, has very friendly staff who are fairly helpful with any queries you may have and is in a perfect location from which to see all of Paris. The hotel was quiet and although we didn't participate in the breakfast it looked pleasant enough. We did however get coffee and morning munchies at the cafe/bar just outside of the hotel and these were delish...but the price meant we were paying for ambiance as you do in Paris.

This hotel was so easy to find and even more easy to see the city from. It is in a reasonably nice neighbourhood, with a great bonus that it is a 10 minute walk to the Parc des Buttes Chaumont which you must take time for a quick picnic here, if not for the park itself then for its stunning views westward of Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica.

The metro stop Jourdain is literally on the hotel's doorstep. It was an easy 15 minute metro ride to anywhere you might want to go in Paris. It is also fairly close to the Pere Lachaise cemetery in the case that you want to do some walking. It is very easy to get to Paris Nord Train station if you are coming by Eurostar and I am sure a taxi ride would not be more than 20 euros (just a guess) from the station to the hotel if the metro seemed a bit daunting (you can also take a bus directly to and from).

The room we had was clean and cozy. There was a TV with BBC news channel. The hotel came with soaps and shampoos, towels were changed everyday. The decor was neither modern nor antiquated but it had a charming view onto the street below. For the price, I had been pleasantly surprised by the comforts that were there.

Overall, my boyfriend and I spent 3 great days in Paris, we saw everything we wanted to, had perfect nights sleeps and the hotel, although economically decorated, provided everything we needed. :) I recommend staying here to a) save some money and b) save a 40 minute commute into the city centre from a hotel in the burbs.

“Small but comfortable and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

Just like other reviews pointed out, the hotel was very small. I had a 3 day stay there 10 days ago. I had a reservation at Emeraude Hotel d Espagne , but as the stupid staff cancelled the reservation without informing me, after a few hours of wandering in paris streets, my friend booked this hotel for me online.

I was alittle worried as i didnt have any other choice, and the hotel was so small that the door was not much recognizable, in between the bar and store surrounded it. BUT the staff was really helpfull and nice and polite and the check in didnt take much time. the lift was really as small as other reviews say and the room was also very small. there was only place for a bed and two side tables and a small desk( with built-in fridge). but it was really really clean and the bathroom although still very small was nicely neat. the towels were clean and was changed everyday.
The room viewd a nice church and also the junction , but the noice from the street wasnt any issue. ( i should mention that it was cold during my stay and i didnt keep the window open that much)
The WiFi was free in the room and the quality was ok. the TV and several channels but ALL of them were in French.
The only annoying issue about the room was walls was sooooooooooo thin that you could here every single movement in the neighbour rooms( i woke up several times during night from the noisy child next door)
The staff was really helpful whenever you ask for their assistance and speak good english. but the draw back was that they would lock the door of hotel at 11 (which is early considring paris is really live at nights) and you had to ring at the door so that the sleepy janitor or desk man will open the door.
The metro station was only 10 steps away and the neighbourhood was nice and safe ( which was my concern as i was travelling alone)
