This hotel was sold as a 3 star hotel by Travelocity but it should have been a 1 star. They barely had a lobby, no elevator and the room we had was nasty. The phone didn't even work to tell the front desk we wanted to leave. This hotel had no redeeming qualities. How bad you ask? We packed up our 2 kids and walked to another hotel at 11:30 at night. We fought with Travelocity to get our money back and eventually did. The trip was actually in March 2008.

This hotel was more than I expected. I was afraid that for such a good price, I was guaranteed to have a dirty room and unsafe neighborhood. The opposite was true; the room was clean, perfectly sized, and close walking distance to any monument or neighborhood. There are two metro lines nearby, the 8 on Chemin Vert and the 5 on Richard Lenoir (which is close to the hotel).
There was always someone at the door, which was comforting late at night. They were also helpful about where to find phone credits (for my rechargable phone), directions, and anything I needed while staying there.
I would suggest this hotel for anyone who plans to walk around and likes the Marais (which is a 5 minute walk to the main dining and shopping area).
They called a cab for my friend and I when we left, which was very helpful at an early hour in the morning.

This hotel isn't really charming or "Paris-like" but is in a great location and clean. They used to change the bathroom towels every day, and the bed-sheets maybe every 2 or 3 days, so for a low budget vacation it is quite ok. It is quite noisy though so make sure you close your windows before going to sleep because the cars/buses and drunk tourists can ruin your beauty sleep even at early morning hours.

We found this hotel value worthy. With the prices they have you can not expect much :-)It has all the basic facilities and we found our bathroom very clean every day. In a total of 7 days the changed the shower curtain 2 times!!!The location is excellent! Recommended for low budget travelers only.
